Speaker- Paul Krugman, a journalist who believes that all inflation obsessives are conservative
Occasion-
Audience- Liberal and democratic subscribers
Purpose- To illustrate how conservatives have been wrong about inflation, and the government being involved in the recession
Subject- Inflation Obsession
Tone- Critical, accusatory
Krugman's tone toward the conservatives is very critical. He accuses all conservatives of being anti-Fed, and says that most are inflation obsessives. He appeals to logos using statistics to support his argument. His diction also is very straight forward, and negative when referring to the conservatives. At one point in the article Krugman's tone became sarcastic when talking about how the conservatives did not take his advice. He ends the article basically saying that we made the wrong decision once again.
